Yep we also signed Bruce Grobbelaar,did that have any effect on attendances??

James is still a top keeper, Shilton and Grobs weren't.

Think Shilton at that time was better than James is now. James is only in the England team because we have no decent keepers.

We'll just have to wait and see how it works out at City. They are clearly gearing up for a promotion push in the next season or two .
You wouldn't pay his wages unless you had cash backed , real ambition.

Im not being an "Aviva boy" believe me i am all for big investment and all the rest of it, i just think if you have that much to invest (wages) in a team i think spending it on a goalkeeper is a bit of a waste, but then again when they have Maynard up front

I know you're not an Aviva boy Punchie . I believe that Coppel is a steady man and wouldn't waste money unless he thought he'd get 'value'.
City seem to be in a similar situation to Reading when he took over. They have 'enough' money to make a difference and with the new stadium, City, like Argyle, have the potential for developing a bigger fanbase than Reading.
